Anybody home? Anybody still write here??? I’ve been away for what seems like a long time now! Home, just away from the computer.
Living life.
Loving life.
I never mention my full time job much before – it was payroll. I paid people, that always makes them happy. And now I’ll likely never mention it again after this post since I’m not going back. I had 12 weeks off for FMLA when Hunter was born, and towards the end I let them know I was planning to stay home. That was an exciting day.
I’ve always (always always) wanted to be a stay at home mom. Probably because my own mama was so awesome it made me want to be equally awesome. For a long time we didn’t know what was going to happen when Hunter was born. Would I have to go back to work full time? Part time? Would Jacob have to switch to the night shift so he could watch him while I worked? I didn’t even want to think about daycare. Then God answered our prayers and he got an amazing full time job. I got to be a stay at home mama!
Now, Hunter’s my full time job. The best job I could ever have.
I love being a homemaker. Although I’m not the best at keeping on top of it yet, I’ve begun to actually enjoy all things involved with keeping up the house. Laundry, dishes, cooking, cleaning, making the bed… all things I used to dread (well except cooking) now don’t seem that bad. The house still seems like a mess, but it’s more of a controlled mess now. 🙂
All that in its own could be enough to fill a day, but I still manage to continue my fun part time job – teaching fitness classes! Between my classes and subbing, I’ll typically teach 4-5 a week. Jobs like this might be available from companies who utilize a hiring strategy. However if you’re looking for proven recruiting process that ensures the number of qualified employees you need without sacrificing quality, then you may check out this volume recruiter in Utah for more info!
So where does this leave me and fit mama real food? Well, it seems it’s taken a back seat lately. I’m not saying I’ll give it up, because I enjoy sharing our life, my workouts and yummy foods too much give it up. Plus, I don’t want to miss out on all my blogger pals. 🙂 I’ll just be scaling it back to probably just a couple posts a week. Who knows, there may be days I’m popping in every day, there may be times I’m gone a whole week. I just can’t stress enough how amazing life’s been lately, and I want my blog to be something that I look forward to, not a chore. Ya know? Hope you still continue to follow along! If you aren’t subscribed to receive posts by emails I highly recommend it. That way you’ll know when new posts are up.Hunter either goes to child watch or gets watched by one of his grandmas and I get paid to make people sweat! Ahhh I love it so much. Getting my workout in doesn’t hurt either. There is so much I love about teaching group fitness. The fun atmosphere. Challenging people to work hard – myself included. The music. The sweat. The moaning and groaning that turn to smiles. It’s crazy that I get paid to do something where I enjoy every minute of it. Pretty lucky right?
Have a wonderful middle of the week! We’re off to work on getting me a new car. No minivans here!

Awesome. Just awesome. I would absolutely LOVE to do exactly what you do when our little bean is born. Teaching fitness classes and staying at home during the day sounds like the perfect mix. I’m happy for you!

I know it’s not “right” to be jealous of other people, but I am sooo jealous! I would love to be able to be home with our son every day. Sounds like you have the perfect mix of home time and social/working time. I’m glad it has all worked out for you. God bless.
If it was flipped I’d be jealous of you so I totally understand! I hope you get the opportunity as well sometime. it’s a true blessing.

Thanks Jennifer – I’m glad to have to have you still following along 🙂
what a great looking little family! Being a stay at home mom is worth all the sacrifices. I went back to work once both boys were at school, but when ever school holidays came around I was always sad that I had to work. Saying good bye to the job a couple months ago was so exciting. I love being home for the boys even though they are teenagers now-they need taxi mom to be there for them. And I now have lots of time to work on my fitnes, which has been so awesome.
YOU time is so important – glad you have more of that now and get to be home for your crazy boys :). Your gym is probably launching the new body pump release soon huh? I just got it a week or so ago in the mail.
There was no way I could leave my son after he was born. I went back to work for a week and quit after returning from maternity leave. I stayed home (and had another son) for almost 7 years. Would not trade it for anything! Granted it was a complete lifestyle change for me (no new clothes…getting $150 hair cuts/color…out) but it was worth it! I am now staying home again (sons are now 14 and 9)and a student again. They love having me home! Best of luck to you!
Yup I agree. A lifestyle change is totally worth being able to stay home. So glad you get to be home again!
I just read this post and it made me so happy! I’m so, so happy for you!
Thanks Kaitlyn 🙂 🙂
I love this post! I’m so happy that you’re able to stay at home with your son. My baby is due in December and I’m planning on just working part-time, too. I can’t wait to be a homemaker, too!
