This healthy chocolate granola recipe is super simple to make, loaded with tons of clusters (the best part!), oats, almonds and is lower in sugar than your average granola. It’s actually double chocolate granola too as we use cocoa powder plus mini chocolate chips in the recipe. Gluten-free, easy to prep, and perfect to serve the fam!
Healthy chocolate almond granola recipe
I love my granolas! We have quite a few granola recipes on the site because it’s simply a staple in our house. When you see how easily granola comes together, you just can’t not make it.
This one feels extra special because it’s a double chocolate granola – YUM!
We’re using cocoa powder and mini chocolate chips in it. The secret ingredient to give you those amazing clusters? Cacao butter. It’s what I use to make my own homemade low sugar chocolate, and because it hardens so much at room temperature, it gives you great clusters.
What you’ll need for this chocolate granola recipe

Substitution ideas
You could turn this into a chocolate hazelnut granola easily by substituting the almonds out for hazelnuts. Chocolate and hazelnut are a pretty perfect pairing (hello Nutella)!
If you’re looking for a completely grain-free granola, use a mixture of sunflower and pumpkin seeds in place of the oats.
If you don’t have cacao butter, simply sub in coconut oil or butter (both melted).
