Healthy chicken burger recipe
Get ready for the best chicken burgers!
If you’re a fan of regular burgers using ground beef and are hesitant to try cooking with lean meat, have no fear.
While these patties use lean ground chicken, you are not left with a dry burger.
With the ground chicken, we are adding red onion, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, oat flour for bread crumbs, dijon mustard, sea salt, and pepper for flavor and to keep the chicken patty moist.
The patties bake in the oven, or can be cooked on a grill pan, and are perfect when paired with lettuce, tomato, pickles, and your favorite burger sauces!

I highly suggest making extra patties for a quick and healthy protein option to enjoy all week long.

Alternative methods to cook the chicken patties
Here are 2 different methods for cooking the chicken burgers.
You can bake these patties.
Shape as the instruction listed above, but place on a parchment paper lined baking sheet in a single layer.
Bake at 400 degrees until your burger patty is fully cooked through and reached an internal temperature of 165 degrees, which will take 15-20 minutes.
Another great way to cook these is on the barbeque over medium-high heat.
I suggest placing the formed chicken burgers on a cookie sheet in the fridge for the freezer for 20 minutes prior to cooking to help them stay together on the bbq.
They will take about 5-6 minutes per side.
How to make this healthy chicken burger recipe low carb
You can definitely make these healthy burgers work well for many special diets, including low carb.
Instead of using hamburger buns, try a lettuce bun instead!
When mixing up the burger mixture, substitute almond flour for the oat flour to keep the recipe lower in carbohydrates.
