Salmon sushi bowls
Deconstructed sushi bowls have been a long-standing favorite in our house. Tuna sushi bowls come together super easily and are delicious, but these salmon sushi bowls are even better in my opinion!
We bake a super simple cooked salmon (no raw fish in this one) that’s flavored with coconut aminos. Then, pair the salmon with crunchy veggies and the perfect sriracha mayo drizzle sauce for the ultimate comfort bowl!
It is super nutritious, and I love that everyone can customize their sushi bowl to their liking.
Crunchy veggies for salmon sushi bowls
These healthy salmon sushi bowls would not be complete without our crunchy veggies! We’re using Pure Flavor® Mini Cucumbers, and let me tell you this – they are my favorite cucumber!
They have the most perfect crunch and are super hydrating. Perfect to grab and munch on, or slice and serve in a bowl.
To go along with the cucumbers we’re adding shredded carrot and green onion.
For the classic sushi flavors, nori & avocado are a must!
Sriracha mayonnaise
The sauce is quite an important part of these spicy salmon sushi bowls. It’s like the glue that brings it all together.
And it’s really easy to make!
You simply mix together mayo (I prefer this avocado oil mayo), along with sriracha. The amount depends on how spicy you like it. Keep it thick, or thin it out for some good drizzle action.
You can serve your homemade sriracha spicy mayo in a drizzle fashion on top of your bowl like I’m sharing.
Or, another way I like to use it is how I serve it in my tuna sushi bowl. Break up the cooked fish, add the sriracha mayo in with it, and combine them.
Either way, you are getting some good flavors and the perfect amount of heat into each bowl.
What type of rice to use
Traditional sushi uses sushi rice, which is sticky and sweet, and super delicious. For your deconstructed sushi bowl, pick your favorite.
We’re using brown jasmine rice, but white jasmine rice is really tasty too!

Substitutions
Below you’ll find a list of substitutions that will work well in this deconstructed salmon sushi rolls recipe.
If you try something different out, please leave a comment below letting us all know how it turned out!
Brown jasmine rice – Any type of brown rice, white rice, short grain rice, or sushi rice will work here!
Salmon pieces – Fresh wild salmon works best, but you could also use canned salmon here! If your sushi cravings call for raw salmon, look for sushi-grade salmon and marinate it in coconut aminos or teriyaki sauce for a teriyaki salmon sushi bowl recipe twist!
Coconut aminos – A good substitute for coconut aminos is soy sauce with a little maple syrup added in for a touch of sweetness.
Avocado oil – For a little more flavor, opt for sesame oil. To keep a neutral oil flavor, use extra virgin olive oil.
