My kids and I have had a lot of fun experiementing with different fruit flavors, but we keep coming back to this strawberry lemon flavor. It reminds me of my stawberry lemonade popsilces, but is a fun spoonable treat!
Why you’ll love this easy dessert recipe
Perfect summer treat – It’s refreshing, sweet, fruity, has the best creamy texture, and is loves by kids and adults! It checks all the boxes for what I’m looking for in the perfect summer treat.
No ice cream machine required – I like to keep my small kitchen appliances to a minimum, and an ice cream maker has never be on my list. If your’e in the same boat and have a versatile food processor, you can make all kinds of sorbets or ice creams!
Sweetened naturally – I like to gravitate towards treats where fruit is the main sweetener. We add a little honey, but that can be optional if you have extra sweet strawberries you’re starting with.

How to make healthy strawberry sorbet
Step 1: Place strawberries, lemon juice, and honey into the base of your food processor. Pulse to begin to break up the frozen berries, and then let your food processor run for 3-6 minutes, stopping and scraping down the sides as needed.
Step 2: Be patient with the sorbet, it will eventually turn into a creamy sorbet mixture! If your strawberries are getting stuck and not moving, you can add water or fruit juice 1-2 tablespoons at a time to help get it going, but be careful not to add much liquid as it will leave you with a smoothie instead of sorbet.
Step 3: Once your sorbet is smooth and creamy, enjoy it right away or store it in a freezer-safe container or a loaf pan until you’re ready to enjoy it! Remove from the freezer 10-15 minutes before you want to enjoy it to let it become more scoopable.

Can you make this sorbet with different fruit?
Absolutely! The main fruit that you choose to use with give you the color and flavor that you end up with. You can use this recipe to make so many different kinds of frozen treats!
The key with homemade sorbet recipes that are quick and speedy to make is to use frozen fruit. Peach sorbet, mango sorbet, blueberry sorbet, cherry sorbet, raspberry sorbet… the possibilities are endless!
How to store
While this sorbet is best enjoyed right away, you can also freeze any extra. Add it to a freezer safe container and freeze for up to 6 months.
When you’d like to enjoy your sorbet, remove it from the freezer and let it sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes to allow it to become scoopable. It will be pretty hard and icy if you try and scoop it right away from the freezer.
Substitutions, optional variations & dietary adjustments
Below you’ll find a list of substitutions that will work well in this homemade strawberry sorbet recipe.

Frozen strawberries – For this recipe I would not recomment using fresh strawberries. If it’s summertime and strawberry season is happening, freeze your fresh strawberries in a single layer for 3-4 hours before using in this recipe. You can swap in almost any frozen fruit for frozen strawberries!
Lemon juice – The combination of lemon with strawberries gives this sorbet strawberry lemonade vibes. You can also use lime juice or your favorite citrus juice in place of lemon.
Raw honey – Maple syrup or agave nectar are both great alternatives to honey.
