Ingredients

Instructions

  • Prep the beans. Drain and rinse the black beans well, then shake off any extra water.
  • Blend. Add the black beans, almond butter, chocolate protein powder, cocoa powder, maple syrup, and salt to a food processor. Blend for 1 to 2 minutes, scraping down the sides as needed, until completely smooth.
  • Adjust. Taste and add more maple syrup if you'd like it sweeter. If it's too thick, blend in almond milk 1 tablespoon at a time.
  • Top and serve. Transfer to a serving bowl and stir in or top with the mini chocolate chips. Serve with strawberries, pretzels, and other dippers.

Notes

Rinse well: Rinsing the black beans removes the starchy liquid and any beany flavor.
Blend fully: Blend for the full 1 to 2 minutes for a silky brownie batter texture.
Too thick? Blend in almond milk 1 tablespoon at a time.
Chill for fudgier dip: Chill for 30 minutes before serving for a thicker texture.
Storage: Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
From the fridge: Let it sit out for 10 minutes or stir in a splash of almond milk.
