These chocolate covered figs are coated in refined sugar-free homemade chocolate (so easy to make!) and make the best fruity chocolate bites! Simple ingredients make a decadent sweet treat. Using chopped dried figs, you'll be left with delicious chocolate fig bites.
You can begin by making your homemade melted chocolate by heating the cacao butter in the microwave for 2-3 minutes on high until fully melted. Alternatively, you can use a double boiler. Stir in the coconut oil, maple syrup, cocoa powder, sea salt, and vanilla extract once the cacao butter is melted.
Drop all the dried fig pieces into the melted chocolate. Stir to coat each piece fully. Use a fork to lift a dried fig piece out of the melted chocolate and place it on a parchment paper or wax paper lined baking sheet or cutting board. Repeat with all fig pieces, making sure to have space between each piece. Optional but delicious, sprinkle a little flaky sea salt on the top for a nice contrast.
Chill in the fridge for 20-30 minutes until set! Keep bites in the fridge and enjoy!
