Ingredients

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, add the olive oil, ancho chili powder, cumin, dried oregano, minced garlic, orange juice, lime juice, sea salt, and pepper. Stir to combine the wet ingredients together.
  • Into a large bowl or large ziploc bag, add the steak and pour the mixture over. Turn the steak a few times to fully coat it, and then allow it to marinade for at least 30 minutes, or overnight.
  • Into a crockpot, add the steak and any remaining marinade. Cook on LOW for 6-7 hours, or high for 3-4 hours. The carne asada meat is done when it easily pulls apart. You can shred the beef, or place it on a cutting board into smaller pieces.
  • Build your carne asada bowl by adding the flavorful beef, cilantro lime brown rice, black beans, pico de gallo, green onions, fresh cilantro, sour cream, and cotija cheese into a bowl. It makes the best carne asada tacos as well!
