I’ve been looking forward to this day for quite some time now. The break from working out was good for me, and necessary, but I do love getting my sweat on and was definitely missing it.
Hunter and I began walking a couple weeks ago, but it just isn’t the same as a tough workout.
What did I do?
Body Pump 82!
I got the release while I was still pregnant, but never got around to watching it. Wednesday seemed like the perfect day to watch and workout at home.
Instead of a bar (since I don’t have one at home) I used a set of 5 pound free weights for all the upper body tracks, no weights for the squats and lunges. To ease into working out I kept it light. I didn’t want to push it too hard since I’m still recovering from giving birth, but since I got the okay to begin exercising again and seeing how my body does, I was on it.
It felt great to lift again! I sure missed my body pump.
The first half of the workout (warm up, squats, chest, back and triceps) I did on Wednesday, then the second half (biceps, lunges, shoulders, abs and cool down) I did on Thursday. I sure felt those push ups and tricep dips!
Next up on the workout agenda?
Getting a run it. I’m hoping the rain lets up tomorrow so I can get out for a quick run while Jacob watches Hunter.
I don’t have a defined plan yet for getting back to my pre-baby size. Right now I’m just going to focus on easing back into exercise so I don’t push myself too hard too soon and begin teaching again in probably 2 weeks.
It sure feels good to feel sore again. I love that feeling after a workout!
Heather

Good for you for getting back in the game! I need a good DVD to do at home!
No problem not having a plan, after having a baby the best plan is definitely listening to your body, since you worked out your entire pregnancy you’ll find that you will be back to your regular workouts in no time! But squats and lunges are definitely the scariest! Haha don’t want to go ripping anything haha!
nice job momma!! i bet it feels good to workout again!
It sure does!
way to go heather! i think as long as you’re listening to your body and easing back into things, you’ll be totally fine!
I didn’t know they made Pump DVDs – is that just for the instructors or can the public buy them too?
Kath- they’re selling pump like videos to the public now. What shes shown is our learning dvd/cd!
You go girl!!! Glad you’re getting back to it
They’re for instructors — the choreography to learn
Was wondering the same thing. would love to incorporate Pump into some of my classes.
