10 Best Kitchen Gadgets and Time Saving Tools For A Healthy Kitchen

by Heather

I am so excited to share the 10 best kitchen gadgets and time saving tools for a healthy kitchen. I love to cook, I love to eat and I also love to be as efficient as possible. Today I’ll be sharing a few bigger kitchen gadgets and also really small tools that I use all the time in my kitchen. Maybe you have them and you forgot about the, or maybe you’ve been wanting to add some new helpful tools into your kitchen. Whatever it may be, I’m going to walk you through my 10 favorites today!

10 Best Kitchen Gadgets and Time Saving Tools For A Healthy Kitchen

If I found the exact product I use in my kitchen, I made sure to link to it below.  I’ve had some of these items for many, many years now. If the exact item was no longer available, I found very similar product to link to.

10 time saving kitchen tools

Crockpot

I have to start with my Crock Pot Slow Cooker because it’s so versatile. Of course dinner recipes are made super simple and quick. I love that you can just throw everything into it and just start it and forget about it. Then dinner is ready and waiting for you!

I love using my crockpot to make homemade bone broth. Even back in the day I used to make my own homemade yogurt and I would make it in the crockpot!

Food Processor

Next, my Food Processor! This is my favorite kitchen tool because it is such a time saver. My food processor is something I use multiple times a week because I make snack balls all the time.

Here’s my routine. Make almond milk. Save almond pulp. Turn almond pulp into chocolate hazelnut almond pulp snack balls or orange almond pulp snack balls. It’s a pretty good routine if you ask me!

I use my food processor for chopping veggies, for shredding and it just makes the task happen faster. I used to have another food processor for a long time and now I have a more powerful food processor that I love!

Rice Cooker

Another kitchen tool we got as a wedding gift many years ago that I still use today is my Rice Cooker. For the same reason I love my slow cooker, it’s also the reason I am a huge fan of my rice cooker. You put the rice + water in, push a button and rice is magically made for you.

I can cook brown rice, white rice, a combo of both or even quinoa in my rice cooker. It’s nice not having to sit at the stove and watch the rice cook.

Garlic Press

This next kitchen tool that I think is a must, is my Garlic Press. Do you like to peel and chop garlic? Because I do not! I can simply put the garlic clove in my press, give it a squeeze and minced garlic comes out! It’s something I use multiple times a week and it keeps the garlic smell off of your hands.

Silicone Steamer Basket

Next is my Silicone Steamer Basket. I use a silicone steamer basket, but metal ones definitely work as well. I prefer steamer veggies over boiled veggies. I even use my steamer basket for potatoes when I make mashed potatoes.

The nice thing about using a silicone one is that silicone doesn’t retain heat as long as metal so I am less likely to burn my hands on it when removing the steamed veggies.

Electric Griddle

Another kitchen gadget that we use every day is our Electric Griddle. It’s our favorite for pancakes, quesadilla, grilled cheese, salmon patties, etc. It is super convenient and handy and makes batch cooking a breeze!

Programmable Coffee Maker

This next gadget isn’t necessarily used in cooking, but in my opinion, it’s a kitchen must for saving time – a Programmable Coffee Maker. I like to wake up and have my coffee ready and waiting for in the morning. I love the idea of heating up your water and making it fresh in the morning, but in real life, I just love coffee ready and waiting for me.

Parchment Paper

Next up is Parchment Paper! Do you use it? I love it because it saves on clean up. I use parchment paper most often when I am roasting veggies in the oven. I place my parchment paper on my baking sheet, add the food and I’m not left with a mess to scrape off of my baking sheet. You’re saving time on clean up. I use parchment paper when baking as well.

Silicone Muffin Liners

Speaking of fast clean up – I am obsessed with my Silicone Muffin Liners! I don’t actually use them as liner. I simply place them on the baking sheet and use as is. I have many other silicone baking tins and different shapes that are super handy. When I make my cheddar broccoli egg muffins, silicone muffin liners are a must because I won’t have to worry about the egg sticking to the muffin tin. They are definitely a favorite because we are big muffin fans in this household.

Mini Masher

The last tool is my Mini Potato/Avocado Masher. Anytime I mash bananas, or sweet potatoes, this tool comes out. It’s a good one I can have the kids use, because it’s easier to mash with than a fork. It’s made with metal and has lasted a long time.

Kitchen gadgets that save time

In my kitchen I have a lot more items that I use like my instant pot, immersion blender and knives that are super handy. But today, I just wanted to focus on 10 that I find super helpful + the why behind them.

I want to know, what is your favorite kitchen tool that helps save you time when you’re cooking?

I am hooked on our instant pot right now! We don’t have a rice cooker, so I use that function at least weekly for a big batch of rice. And I totally agree on parchment paper!

I’ve never tried the rice cooker setting on my IP because we have one, but good to know if my rice cooker ever does that I have another option! Yes, what would we do without parchment paper?!?!
