Creamy Carob Smoothie

by Heather

We’ve got heat!  And I’ve got some sun on my back and shoulders to prove it. Smile with tongue out

I spent a good 2-3 hours outside yesterday planting, weeding and chopping down blackberry vines.  All I wanted when I came inside what something cool and refreshing.

Jacob was sick for an entire week and still has a cough.  Now I’m starting to feel like I have a golf ball in my throat.  Bad news.  But if that’s all that happens to me then I’ll be a happy camper.

Not only did this smoothie cool me down after being in the heat, it felt great on my throat.

Carob is naturally sweeter than cocoa, so no extra sweetener was needed for this tasty treat.  Plus I just love the taste of carob.  It’s so so good, and amazing in smoothies.  You guys have got to try this one.  You’ll be happy you did!

Creamy Carob Smoothie
Serves 1

Ingredients

  • 1 frozen banana, chopped
  • 1 cup milk of choice (I used plain soymilk)
  • 2 tbsp carob powder
  • 2 tbsp vanilla hemp protein powder
  • 3 frozen strawberries
  • 1 tbsp almond butter
  • ¼-1/2 water (depending on how thick you like your smoothie)
  • 4-6 ice cubes

Directions

  1. Easy peasy – add everything to the blender and allow to run for 45-60 seconds.  The longer it runs the fluffier and creamier it gets.

I started with a spoon, but then proceeded to a straw.
