How often do you make time for yourself?

Every day, week, month?

I have to admit I don’t always get around to it every day, but most days.

What’s ‘me time’ to you?

For me it’s doing something I want to do, by myself. Lately it’s been reading, which is evident in my almost finishing 2 books in these past 3 weeks. There’s something so calming and relaxing about reading. My mind goes somewhere else for a bit and isn’t distracted by things I need to do or people around me.

Another favorite it always exercise, running in particular. As much as I would love for Jacob to join me on my runs (he h.a.t.e.s running), it’s nice to get quiet time to think or work away a stress. When I run outside I usually go without music, which really lets me clear my mind.

Another favorite thing for me is baking.

Why should you take ‘me time’?

It helps relieve stress, and if you’re always doing things to help out others (which is great!), it’s also nice to help out yourself a bit too.

Being wound up with lists after lists of things to do only adds on more stress. I know, I’m notorious for overfilling my plate with things to do. I feel like a super star when I get so much accomplished, but constant business also has it’s downsides.

Will you take on the challenge?

I challenge you to take ‘me time’ every day for the next 10 days. It can be a few minutes to a few hours. Whatever gives you time for yourself.

What’s in it for you?

Other than a great feeling of relaxation (I hope), a book! I actually bought this sudoku repeat-letter book many years back as a gift for my brother but keep forgetting to give it to him, so I’m going to give it to one of you! A fun way to spend your ‘me time’.

To get in the drawing for this book come here every day and leave a comment telling me how you got ‘me time’ in. The more ‘me time’, the more entries!

Hope you have a relaxing day. šŸ™‚

Kristen shared: many of my friends have been having babies and that has got me thinking every so slightly about motherhood in the next few years and then kind of freaking out ;) It would be very interesting to look into other mothers’ lives and how they make it through and enjoy the blessing. I to like getting a glimpse into others lives like in blogs.

An email has been sent to you lady. šŸ™‚

I take time to myself normally after dinner. Thats when I write my blog and just relax. I try to squeeze in some magazine time to, but it never seems like there’s that much time left in a day. Time just goes way to fast!

Yay! Can’t wait to read their stories šŸ™‚ I try to get in ‘me time’ as much as I can, but you’re right, it sure is tough most of the time. Me time for me is taking a pilates class, watching a movie, experimenting in the kitchen and blogging šŸ™‚

Movies… Yes! I spent almost an entire Sunday watching movies once. It was glorious šŸ™‚

I try to make “me time” everyday..esp. with a little one on the way..but it doesn’t always happen..I enjoy to read, browse the internet, work out, or nap! (If I could do ALL of those things EVERY day I would be one happy girl!)

    1. Get Healthy with Heather says:

Oh I wish I could find time to nap too! They never ever happen.

I take some “me” time almost every day. I am trying to strike that balance between work and play and for that reason, I am not teaching at night next quarter. I’ve been working away the days and nights all too often the past 15 months, so I’m looking forward to the break šŸ™‚ I deserve it!

    1. Get Healthy with Heather says:

You definitely deserve a break! You’re always go go go (I can relate), so when you get some more me time it’s extra nice.
