Money saving tips for families
When I focus on saving money, I think about three things: 1. What am I spending money on that I don’t really need? 2. Where can I buy something for a better price? 3. What product swap can I make that will save us money?
I am all about keeping quality high, while giving us as much savings as possible so they can all have a junior ISA at thechildrensisa.com. Here’s what that looks like in our life with 4 kids.
What am I spending money on that I don’t really need?
While I really LOVE bars for their convenience and deliciousness factor, I never need just 1 granola bar, but really 4-5 of them for a sitting to feed all my people. Instead of loading up on bars, I can make my own healthy bars at home which saves me money when we’re feeding so many!
Ask yourself: What convenience foods or products are you spending money on that you could go without or make at home?
Where can I buy something for a better price?
The truth is, certain shops are more expensive to shop at than others. If you have a variety of stores in your area and have the time to do it, check out which ones give you the best deals on products you buy most often. You can even check out online shopping and see if there is money savings there!
Ask yourself: Do I have the time to go to more than 1 store a week? Can I find a better deal online?
What product swap can I make that will save us money?
Choices are great to have, but sometimes the abundance of choices can be overwhelming! I am constantly trying new products to see if they work well for our family and can offer me money savings. I buy so many diapers and pulls ups you guys, like way too many (but we need them all!). help me save money and it’s an easy swap because diapers are something I just can’t go without right now. If you’ve been a long time reader you may remember that I used cloth diapers for my first 2 babies. After my 3rd baby had more sensitive skin and the cloth diapers weren’t working for her (after MONTHS of trying), we switched fully to disposable diapers. I got into the rhythm of disposable diapers for my 4th and never looked back! The convenience won me over (hello 4 kids to take care of) and I am so happy about that.
I appreciate that Signature Care diapers are all about quality and value, are 100% money back guaranteed (so nice when you’re trying out new products!), keep my baby dry and comfy with their cotton enhanced dryness layer while being breathable and I can use them overnight since they have leak protection for up to 12 hours! One feature that is so convenient is the wetness indicator, where the color changes to blue when it’s time for a change. The bigger kids love to help me change Holland’s diaper and think the blue line is so fun to search for!
Ask yourself: Have I tried out a different brand? Is the quality working for me?
I’m happy to share that you guys can try out Signature Care diapers for free! Fill out a quick form to receive a free 5 count sample of Signature Care diapers or training pants plus receive a $2 off coupon.
I would LOVE to hear how you save money in your family. What are your key strategies that you implement? Do you have time to shop at more than 1 store a week, or just choose the one that saves you the most money? What product swaps have you made lately?
