Time for Zoe’s 2 month update! Lots to share from month 1 to now. First up, how cute is she?!
And then this?
And one more.
Oh my gosh I die.
Despite those more intense looks above, she’s really a smiley girl! I think she started really smiling around 6 weeks. She coos and will mimic coos and sounds. It’s adorable.
Another wondrous thing that happened at the 6 weeks mark – sleeping through the night! Yes, I am a lucky mama. I had been following the babywise eat-wake-sleep schedule like I did with Hunter, and she beat her brother by a whole month. At 6 weeks she started regularly sleeping 7-8 hour stretches. Now at 10 weeks she goes for at least 8, but sometimes 9 hours. She even gave me a 10 hour stretch once! I know, you want to slap me now, huh?
Here’s what our schedule/routine looks like, as of 10 weeks.
7:30am wake for the day + nurse + awake play time
8:45 – 10:30am nap (sometimes it’s only 45 minutes, but sometimes the entire time)
10:30am nurse + awake play time
11:30am-12:12pm short nap
12:30pm nurse + awake
2 – 4:30pm nap (it seems like every other day she’ll wake at the 45 minute mark, but usually goes back down with a little rocking)
4:30pm I wake her to nurse + awake time
6-6:45pm nap
6:45pm nurse + awake time
8:30pm nurse + get her ready for bed – she normally nurses a while longer since she’s getting sleepy and I also want her to get a nice full stomach
9:30pm put her into bed (awake!) and she falls asleep
5:30-6:30am (somewhere in that range) she’ll wake and I feed her and put her back down to bed. If she wakes closer to 7am I’ll have that be the start of our day.
One great thing that has helped her be such a good sleeper is allowing her to fall asleep on her own. For most naps and nighttime I just swaddle her and offer the paci. She normally doesn’t take it, which I am totally fine with. She might let out a couple squawks. but then falls asleep. A big thanks to my mom for putting her down awake for bed once when she was watching her. I always rocked/nursed her to sleep for nighttime, but then after my mom did it, I followed her lead and have been letting her fall asleep on her own since.
That along is such a difference than it was with Hunter. I think part of it is because she just wasn’t held all the time like Hunter, because with a second you just can’t. He loved falling asleep in the swing. She doesn’t. She’s much better at sleeping in a still spot. I’m so thankful!
During her awake time I’ve started giving her more tummy time, which she clearly loves.
She’s also been more into the activity mat and will happily look at it for 20 minutes.
Her favorite is people watching though.
Her hair is the best, especially after baths it gets major fluff. She likes to splash and chill in the water. Maybe because she was born in water? It must bring back happy memories.
She is wearing mostly 0-3 month clothes, although I still stuff her in some newborn clothes. She had a 2 month check up and is perfect. Pediatricians words, although I agree with them.
I was so surprised to find out that she weighed 10 pounds, 3 ounces. A much bigger number than I anticipated, but still only 25th percentile. At 2 weeks she weighed 7 pounds 10 ounces. I went home thinking she was growing like crazy and must have passed up her brother at this age. Um nope, I looked at his 2 month update and he was a full 1.5 pounds heavier and chunkier looking!
She’s going to be my petite little girl.
I’m sure it’s pretty common to compare how your kids are the same and different. Obviously, they’ll be different with certain things because they’re different people. I think it’s so cool how even as babies God gave them each their own personality and preferences, which shows already. I can’t wait to see what will be revealed about Zoe during the next month!
I’ll leave you with this cuteness.
Have a great day!
