I have been a granola making fool over here!
Though it was time to share some of my recent spent grain granola creations.
It all started with our first day of brewing beer.
Then I was left with cups and cups of this beautiful spent grain. The left over boiled grains that create malt for beer.
What’s a girl to do?
Make granola of course
I had fun making a few more varieties recently. I revamped my chocolate-cherry spent grain granola, and boy was it a hit. In a major way.
Strawberry-Almond was up next.
The strawberry flavor was light and refreshing. Jacob told me it reminded him of a cereal, but my old lady memory can’t remember which one. That boy likes cereal so it’s a good sign!
Lastly peanut-banana was created.
It was in need of some banana chips and a little more tweaking. That didn’t stop me from munching away at it.
I have more spent grains and will be a granola making girl this weekend.
What unique flavor should I try out next?
Maybe something with shredded carrot, apple {pie}, tropical or peanut butter-chocolate.
What do you think? What unique flavor should I go for this time?
Who knows… there may be a giveaway involved soon.

Wow! I wish I had all this granola right now. The apple or carrot granola sounds really cool! Can’t wait to see what you create 🙂
I wish you did too so you could enjoy the deliciousness 🙂
I love that you used the spent grain from making beer! All your creations sound wonderful! And all your ideas sound great. I would do the apple (pie) one first! 🙂
Happy Friday!
I just might!
I think the apple pie one sounds fabulous! PB and chocolate though sounds pretty amazing too!!!
PB and chocolate is never a bad combo huh?!
My brother was standing behind me as I read this post and he was like WOAH IS THAT BEER?! AWESOME!! Hahaha 🙂
Haha beer in the process! It makes the house smell so good, like a yummy brewery.
Apple pie! But really, you can’t go wrong with granola. All of your flavors look so delicious!
So true, granola is just one of those foods that tastes so good!
The photos are adorable and they all look amazing! I think the tropical flavor sounds great – maybe some dried pineapple, mango, and/or coconut in there? YUM!
Mmmmm those flavors will make me want to lay on a beach with a fruit drink in hand.
try something coconutty!!! I can’t get over how cool it is to brew beer and then make granola with the leftovers! There is a really good business in there somewhere….
It’s like you’re reading my mind…

Awesome!! Apple Pie lol anything with apple in it has my vote 🙂
Whoa, was the beer smell overpowering? I can’t imagine!
You should make…white chocolate macadamia banana chip granola! Then give me some of it ;D
Wow now that’s a combo I know I’ll be trying! The beer wasn’t overwhelming… Just smelled like delicious sweet beer.
Ok, I still can’t get over the fact that you’re brewing beer!! How about some beer granola?! With beer nuts! 🙂 Or maybe instead of peanuty granola, it could be almondy granola. I am all about the nuts!
I think it’s funny that I never thought to make a beer flavored granola… that seems like a fun challenge!
What an awesome idea for using the leftover grain! Those all sound so good…I think a giveaway in the future is an awesome idea 😉
Peanut butter chocolate! The best combo in history; you can’t go wrong!
