Hey, long time no blog! How have you been? I’ve been enjoying all the extra wonderful family time this Christmas season, which sadly came to an end yesterday. Now that presents have been unwrapped, I can show you some of the gifts I DIYed! Pinterest inspired some of my creativity, of course. 🙂
I wasn’t the best about capturing pictures… it seemed once I finish the present, I got it wrapped up right away. Here’s what I did capture.
For my nieces I sewed up a couple geranium dresses in the 18-24 month size. I love how they all coordinate (middle one is for our little girl) but don’t match. I want them all for me!
Why yes, I do keep a tidy desk….
I also made some headbands to go with the dresses. One a fabric flower, the other a simple cinched headband.
Okay, I made LOTS of headbands to give away.
For my two SILs, grey with gold stretch headbands.
For our next door neighbor girl, 3 different headbands.
I also sewed a chef hat for my nephew Caden (which my mom embroydered Chef Caden on)… but it sadly didn’t get into a picture.
Now onto non-sewing gifts!
For my mom, who loves scrabble, I made a grand kid scrabble tile picture frame. So far she has 4 grand kids, but #5 will arrive soon! I made sure her secret name will work into it as well.
I tried a new to me method for image transfers onto fabric using citrasolv (a cleaner). I think they turned out really cool! The one below came out the darkest… the others were lighter. It’s a vintage look. 🙂
I spray painted a wine bottle and added chalkboard paint for a chalkboard wine bottle. I had actually planned to make 3 different colors, but the other two looked really bad (running paint) so I gave up and focused on this one. Gifted to my uncle Norge, with a Norge quote already on it.
I don’t have a picture of this (although I will probably take one sometime), but I made a paint chip color matching game for Hunter. It looks almost exactly like this one.
Hunter also got into DIYing! We went to a local ceramic painting shop and he painted this mug for Jacob. It’s so cute and now Jacob’s favorite mug. And it was a total surprise, which I loved.
I believe those are all the gifts I DIYed… but I’m going by memory so one or two might have been missed. It was sure fun coming up with different things to make and I really did enjoyed making them. I was only a major procrastinator on two of them. 🙂
Here are some pictures of all the little cousins from this last weekend.
Hunter was all about giving kisses…
Before I forget, I have two giveaway winners to announce.
coffee-mate natural bliss prize pack
The Laughing Cow® Live to Laugh™ Kit
Ladies, send me an email (heather.englund@comcast.net) with your address and I’ll forward it on so you can get your prize packs!
I hope you all had a WONDERFUL Christmas and got time away from the computer and in front of the ones you love. I know I did and loved it.
Are you still in the holiday mode or back to reality? Our Christmas decor is getting boxed back up again (hopefully today), and while I loved having it out, I am looking forward to a fresh clean house… but that means I would have to clean it too…
Happy Monday all!
Heather

You must open an etsy shop! So talented!! I can’t wait to hear the new peanuts name!!
Awww thanks girl!
You are so crafty! I want you to make a dress in my size! Either that, or I need to get pregnant with a little girl and have you make her wardrobe 🙂 Super cute stuff!
I think you should do the second one 😉
I’m so impressed! Great gifts!
Thanks Sarah!
Wow! I’m so impressed. You did a great job with all the gifts. And Hunter giving all those kisses?! GAH! So stinking cute. I love it. 🙂
It was SO cute… he loves giving kisses 🙂
Do you have directions on how to make those headbands? Everything you made was beautiful, thx for sharing!
Thanks Andrea! I don’t have directions for many… I mostly winged them as I went along and adjusted as needed. However, here’s the link to the video I pinned for the fabric flower! http://www.pinterest.com/pin/127930445638952298/
