Today is officially the last day of my first trimester. It’s crazy to think that I’m 13 weeks along now. What started as a tiny poppyseed, is now a big peach!

As you can see, that is no peach in my hand – it’s an apple/pear (quite tasty actually). These weekly fruits/veggies may get trickier to find as we drive deeper into winter, so I did what I had to and just went with a similar shape/size fruit this week.

How’s baby growing?

Fingerprints have formed on your baby’s tiny fingertips, her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and her body is starting to catch up with her head — which makes up just a third of her body size now. If you’re having a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. Your baby is almost 3 inches long and weighs nearly an ounce. — from Babycenter

How I’m feeling
This week has been awesome. Nausea is completely gone. I’m feeling much more energetic and back to normal.

It’s really nice to not have nausea. It makes choosing healthier food options so much easier. I actually want to eat them and begin to crave them again.

While the nausea is gone, I can’t say cravings are. My cravings are much more random and strong now. When we were out running some errands on Saturday I saw Pizza Schmizza and really wanted… no needed a slice of pizza. So we got a slice.

Then the next day it was all about peanut butter and chocolate. I had one of these, but sure couldn’t stop at one!

I had 3 before heading out to the movies followed by 2-3 more when I got home. So tasty, but I think I overdid it a bit.

After the PB chocolate combo I was craving cheese its, but had none around and told myself I was not going to give in and go to the store. That craving lasted 3 days and I fought it.  Oh and of course, individual chocolate mug cakes help curb by chocolate cravings too.  Cravings are so weird.

What’s my body doing?

This was a big week for growth! Not because of all my cravings, these were taken before my weekend of indulgence. Let’s take a look back at week 12…

Maybe it’s just me, but the belly definitely decided to grow. I read that once your uterus gets bigger it has to move up out of your pelvis to find more space. I have a feeling that’s what changed. My weight had remained pretty consistent these past few week, just a change in the belly.

Another reason I think there has been belly growth… Jacob telling me almost every day that I look pregnant! It’s totally new for both of us, so seeing these changes and knowing there is a little baby in there just blows my mind.

Again, my exercise is consistent (5-6 days a week). My midwife told me to keep my heart rate below 140 BPM, so that’s something I’m still working on. It’s no problem except for when I teach cycle… I just get so into it and know there are a few times it’s above 140 BPM!

I had my first pregnancy dream this week…

I was in my kitchen, which was a different house than ours, wearing a robe/snuggy thing with the baby in a front pouch, then I had a flash of memory.

I was looking in a church where I saw a bassinet with a baby in it. Behind the baby was a sign with the name Jtosh on it. Like Josh and Tosh (from tosh.o) combined. I thought it was weird that we named our baby after my brother Josh and tosh.o.

But then another flash of memory came to the church, where another bassinet was next to Jtosh. The sign behind this one said Jesse (not a name we are picking). We had a girl.

I was back to my kitchen, went and sat down on the couch and began breastfeeding my baby girl, named Jesse I guess.

It was an odd dream!

I also had the best nap I’ve ever had this week too. After an hour of walking + lunch it was just perfect.

Stoner was happy to nap with me. What a guy. 🙂
