Week 20 was an exciting week for Jacob and I. We found out we are having a little baby boy, which was crazy awesome news. I totally knew it.
We’ve already picked out the name, and I even had you all get in on the guessing. That was so much fun! Are you ready to find out if you guessed his name?!?!?!
In all there were 59 baby name guesses, and 6 of you who guessed our little guys name. Many more than I thought!
Baby H’s name will be…
…
…
…
HUNTER!!!
Weeeee, so fun to finally share 🙂
The winners are: Rebecca, Ashley @ My Food ‘N’ Fitness Diaries, Jennifer @ Peanut Butter and Peppers, Chloe@LightOnMyFeet (who guessed Hunter twice, it’s like she knew!), tiffany and kim polovnikoff
Kim, you cheated! Kim is my real life friend who I already told the name to. Even so, I’ll still give you some fun goodies lady.
Winners please email me your address to gethealthywithheather@comcast.net and I’ll start to get your prize pack together.
Thanks for joining in on the fun everyone 🙂
Now onto the 20 week update!
How’s baby growing
Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. He’s also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel. (For the first 20 weeks, when a baby’s legs are curled up against his torso and hard to measure, measurements are taken from the top of his head to his bottom — the “crown to rump” measurement. After 20 weeks, he’s measured from head to toe.)
He’s swallowing more these days, which is good practice for his digestive system. He’s also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in his bowels, and you’ll see it in his first soiled diaper (some babies pass meconium in the womb or during delivery) .– from babycenter
Although it says the baby’s weight estimate is 10 1/2 ounces, the ultrasound tech told us our baby’s weight was around 13 ounces. Big baby or just wrong estimate? We shall see…
How I’m feeling
I’m happy to say my emotional rollercoaster is still on a hiatus. My moods have been pretty mellow, but stress has definitely been higher this week. Just busy work stress has left me feeling tired and outta gas by the end of the day. I think my consistency with exercise has helped me deal with the stress instead of letting it take over me.
One new development this week is more heartburn. Heartburn was never something I had before being pregnant, so when I first felt the fire running up my chest/throat, I finally understood why heartburn sucks. Throughout my pregnancy I’d randomly get 20-30 second bouts of heartburn in the evenings, but this week it’s been a lot more, and a lot longer. Still not a constant thing where I want to take anything for it, but it’s pretty annoying. I mostly get it in the evening, and more often when I’m laying down.
My workouts
Like I said above, workouts have been pretty great and consistent. I made an effort to get an early work week workout in which worked out perfectly.
Here’s what I did…
Saturday – rest day
Sunday – 3.5 mile run (read more about it here)
Monday – went to a 60 minute body pump class
Tuesday – 60 minute walk with Jacob + Joe
Wednesday – taught 60 minute body pump class
Thursday – 60 minute walk with Jacob + Joe and taught 60 minute cycle class (me <– super sweaty)
Friday – heading to a 60 minute full body strength training class + 60 minute walk at lunch with Jacob + Joe
I’ve been loving my lunch time hubby + dog walks. His schedule’s changed for these next couple weeks so our lunch time walks have been a super special time for me. The great weather had been a plus too!
My eats
Since this has been a busy week, I prepped a lot of food on Sunday. Tons of meat balls, cooked grains, chopped up cucumbers, made omelets for Jacob’s breakfast + subs for the man.
Each night before going to bed I’ve made overnight oats for an afternoon snack. Breakfast has either been protein or custard oats, they’re warming, filling and comforting, along with my tiny cup of coffee.
I’ve mostly stayed away from the sweets which had left me feeling great.
Just once I enjoyed a bowl of chocolate chips + raisins. Love that combo. 🙂

I just found your blog through I’m An Okie, and I love it! I think it’s super cool that you’re doing the weekly fruit pictures to show the size of your growing baby. Very cute. I’m a big fan of the chocolate raisin combo too- delicious. 🙂
Welcome Caroline! Glad to have you here :). I’ll have a new fruit pic + update up tomorrow!
