my pregnancy: week 35

by Heather

I just loved everyone’s response from yesterday’s blessing post.  It’s amazing what God can do huh?

More to be blessed for?  Today I’m officially 36 weeks along, which means just 1 more week until Hunter is full term.

My baby keeps on growing and at 35 weeks he’s the size of a honeydew melon.

Let’s see what’s going on with Hunter

Your baby doesn’t have much room to maneuver now that he’s over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 ¼ pounds (pick up a honeydew melon). Because it’s so snug in your womb, he isn’t likely to be doing somersaults anymore, but the number of times he kicks should remain about the same. His kidneys are fully developed now, and his liver can process some waste products. Most of his basic physical development is now complete — he’ll spend the next few weeks putting on weight. — from babycenter

The somersaults and crazy movements definitely have not calmed down! He moves sooooo much, and especially when I’m listening to or practicing for body pump. That boy loves the music!

This week’s update is going to be a little different, more journal like. Every day I made a note about the day + took a picture of my outfit. Let’s see what the entire week was like….

Friday

Comfy day in my new dress, but not as comfy as yoga pants + a tank top. Once I got home from work I changed into this.

We were headed up to the lake house for our babymoon/birthday get away. Exercise that morning — 20 minute walk with the hubs + pup.  And that is my official lazy hair style, quick bun.

Saturday

Into total relaxation mode. It’s tough really relaxing at home with so much to do, but away from home I could really just hang out on the couch, munch all day and enjoy my day of no responsibilities.

Favorite snack of choice? Dried pears… seriously so good!

…. dog foot on the couch with me…

Exercise of choice? Lots of dog walking + outlet shopping 🙂

Sunday

Brunch out with my parents! Brunch rocks. I was sad to leave the lake house, but grocery shipping + the work week was forcing me back to reality.

Exercise that day – more dog walks

That dog got spoiled over the weekend, yet he still woke me up at 6am on Sunday. What gives?

Monday

Back to work. Very sleepy. Didn’t feel energized until after I taught a bootcamp class in the evening. It was HOT in the room. I guzzles water and sure sweat a ton.

Prepped a lot of my favorite yogurt snack for the week: plain yogurt + mashed ripe banana + peanut butter + cocoa powder.

Going on 3 days of me actually blow drying my hair… a new record?

Tuesday

More energized, which I totally attribute to the workout I taught the night before. Headed to the 5:30am water aerobics, and loved it again. I just love being in the water.

Tuesday was my birthday… which kinda seemed to come and go. The big 25!

I baked some carrot cake donuts to take to our Bradley method class that night. They were a hit.

The hubs surprised me with some new earrings + new ones for him too. Now we’re both sporting white instead if black.

We’re still enjoying our Bradley Method class, and have been making friends with another couple – the gal is due one day after me! They have chickens which is awesome, so sometime we’re going up check out their coop since we hope to get chickens sometime too.

Wednesday

Definitely did not get enough sleep. Came home from work and napped + didn’t do much. My back was pretty achey that day so I iced it a lot during the afternoon.

The extra resting gave me so much energy to teach my body pump class that night. Dinner was all ready when I got home — yummy left over chicken sausage and sorrel quiche.

Thursday

Thursdays are rough. Full day at work + teaching cycle in the evening. I always, always, always feel tired by the time I get home. Really being at work 8 hours now exhausts me when most days I only work 6 hours.

Cycle was a lot of fun, but kind of sad.  I decided it was going to be my last time teaching it until I return after Hunter is born.  I will miss my class!  However, yesterday I could tell he dropped a bit more, which made being on the bike super uncomfortable.  If he wasn’t in my ribs, he was all up on my bladder, or in both places.  I totally thought I was going to pee on the bike!

With him dropping, I’ve definitely felt a lot more pressure down low.  It will be interesting to see if the midwives can tell if he actually dropped or not, but I can totally feel a difference now.

Throughout the entire week I was a lot better about not chomping down on tons of sweets every night. It’s no surprise my weight gain wasn’t as much as it normally was! Still, a little 0.5 pound increase brings me to a total of 37.5 pounds gained.

I’m grateful to still be teaching body pump and bootcamps. If I wasn’t scheduled to teach, I could totally see myself letting exercise go other than walking + water aerobics. My motivation is definitely lacking these days.

And on a random note, it looks like I’ve stopped wearing make up.  Yes, motivation for exercise isn’t the only thing lacking here!  On the rare days I do wear make up, it’s just a quick eyelash curl + mascara.

My next midwife appointment is this afternoon + I’m going to go see the chiro again. Gotta keep this back in shape to pop the baby out.

Going forward my appointments will be every week until he gets here. So exciting!!!
