Right now I have a baby sleeping on my chest.
It’s kind of the best thing ever.
To kickstart the guest posts I’ve got Ashley sharing how her and her hubs stay active together (and how you can too with your man!)… and not the Hunter producing type of ‘staying active’. 😉 Enjoy!
Hi there Fit Mama Real Food readers! I’m Ashley from My Food ‘N’ Fitness Diaries, and I’m honored to fill in for Heather while she is welcoming her little bundle of joy into the world. She will be an awesome Mama, and I’m so excited for her new adventure in motherhood.
My husband and I are (relatively) newly married couple and have two fur babies named Ryan and Molly.
And here are our two kids labs…
My husband and I are both very active people and have always enjoyed keeping busy and being in the great outdoors. However, our biggest passions revolving around being active are very different. I love running. He hates running. He loves cycling. I’ve never gotten into it. I’ve begged and pleaded him to go running with me, but he just won’t fall for it. He says it’s “torture”, so I finally decided to give up on the running thing with him. I decided it’s a hobby I’ll keep for myself. Instead, we have discovered other recreational activities that allow us to spend time with one another and that we both enjoy.
Some of our favorites?
- Long walks with the pups
Walks allow us to catch up with each other and spend some quality time with one another.
- Doing yardwork together
We both enjoy being outdoors and making our yard look pretty. It’s not necessarily super strenuous, but it gets us off our behinds and gets us moving together!
- Swimming
We live in Utah so our swim season is rather limited, but we enjoy it when we can! Cody was a swimmer in high school, and I just love being in the water.
- Skiing/Snowboarding
We live in Utah which is one of the best places to ski and snowboard in the country. We try to take advantage of it when we can. He is loves snowboarding, and I enjoy skiing, so it makes for a fun time together during the winter months!
- Hiking
We are surrounded by hundreds of beautiful hiking trails, so we try to take advantage of them in the warmer months.
If your significant other doesn’t share your favorite active hobbies, don’t give up! Hopefully the above ideas will give you some new things to try out together! Don’t be afraid to try some new activities. You never know, you might find a new favorite hobby!
I hope you’ll stop by My Food ‘N’ Fitness Diaries! I’d love to “meet” you!
