Turmeric Tonic

Collagen Turmeric Tonic Recipe with Ginger and Lemon

I keep coming back to this delicious drink! It has the perfect balance of sweetness from the honey and orange juice, paired with the bite from the turmeric, ginger, and lemon juice.

It’s also incredibly easy to prep. All of the ingredients (except for the collagen powder) are blended together and then strained.

Once your turmeric tonic concentrate is ready, you can enjoy hot or cold turmeric tonics!

Turmeric is rich in phytonutrients, especially when paired with a little black pepper to help with absorption. Phytonutrients fight against free radicals and have anti-inflammatory effects.

I like to mix Naked Collagen into the turmeric tonic with my immersion blender, then add hot water for a cozy drink or ice and cool water for something more refreshing.

Naked Collagen is made from one ingredient (bovine hide collagen peptides). Collagen is great for your skin, nails, hair, and joints.

Plus each scoop gives you 9 grams of protein!

It’s flavorless, so you can add it into liquid, or bake with it! It’s a super versatile supplement to keep on hand for extra protein and goodness for your body.

How to make a ginger turmeric drink

How to make a ginger turmeric drink

Step 1: To a blender add the orange juice, lemon juice, turmeric, ginger, and honey. Blend on high for 30 seconds, then strain through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth.

Step 2: Add 2-4 tbsp of your turmeric tonic concentrate to a mug or glass along with 1 scoop of collagen powder. Stir or blend it in with a frother. To make a hot drink, top with 4-6 oz of hot water. To make a cold drink, add ice and top with cold water. Enjoy!

How to store

I like to prepare a big batch of turmeric concentrate to keep in my fridge and enjoy throughout the week. Once prepped, use it within 1 week.

Store it in an airtight container in the fridge.

You can also freeze individual servings in an ice cube tray, then pull out however many turmeric tonic frozen cubes you need and enjoy hot or cold!

Substitutions, optional variations & dietary adjustments

Below you’ll find a list of substitutions that will work well in this turmeric juice drink recipe.

If you try something different out, please leave a comment below letting us all know how it turned out!

Oranges – You could use store-bought orange juice if you don’t have fresh oranges available. Tangerines or mandarins work well here too.

Lemons – Lime juice or grapefruit juice would be a refreshing alternative.

Fresh turmeric root – Dried turmeric will work in place of fresh. Use less, as it’s more potent.

Fresh ginger root – Dried ginger powder will also work in place of fresh ginger. Just like with turmeric powder, use less, as it’s more potent.

Honey – Maple syrup or agave nectar are good alternatives to honey.
