This adobo turkey and roasted broccoli tagliatelle pasta (which is gluten free!) is made with only freezer and pantry staples. YES! This recipe will show up on repeat when you don’t want to think about what to make for dinner, and your fridge is starting to look bare.
Friends, this is the kind of dish you want to have around right now. Whether it is back to school time, or just a busy time in your life, this from-freezer-and-pantry meal is perfect when you A) don’t have any dinner inspiration going on, and B) have not gone grocery shopping in a while and your fridge is lacking anything fresh.
Adobo Turkey and Roasted Broccoli Tagliatelle Pasta
This meal comes together ONLY from freezer and pantry staples! Look how simple the list is.
From the freezer:
- Frozen ground turkey (or fresh – I buy meat on sale in excess and stick it in the freezer!)
- Frozen broccoli florets
From the pantry:
- Pasta (I used brown rice tagliatelle here but any pasta will do the trick!)
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Avocado oil
- Seasonings – sea salt, pepper, garlic grunles, dried oregano, dried chives and turmeric
While the list is short, the flavors are not lacking! I have been LOVING the adobo flavors combined with ground turkey so much lately. The turmeric, garlic granules and oregano are just perfect together. I use this mix often as a dry rub on pork loin and everyone always loves it!
If you have fresh parmesan on hand, feel free to grate some on at the end! It’s definitely not necessary though, this dinner is so packed with flavor, plus gives you an amazing balances of protein, carbs and fat. And if you’ve never tried roasted broccoli from frozen broccoli, this recipe is the time for it! I’ve used this trick often since I read about it on Eating Bird Food and love having the option to not chop broccoli, but to know that if I keep frozen broccoli on hand, I always have a veggie side option I can make.
Zoe, my 4 year old helped me make this dinner. She tossed the fun pasta balls into the water, measured the seasonings and then (as a future food blogger, haha!) helped me photograph it. I love how much she wants to help with whatever I’m doing. I definitely know that won’t always be the case, so I’m soaking it in as long as I can!
Aaaaaand back to dinner. Save this recipe for a busy night or simply a night you want to keep things easy. You will not regret it I promise!

Adobo Turkey and Roasted Broccoli Tagliatelle Pasta
Ingredients
- 6 cups frozen broccoli florets
- 1 tbsp avocado oil
- 1 tsp sea salt divided
- ¾ tsp pepper divided
- 1 pound frozen ground turkey (or fresh, it will just cook faster)
- ¼ cup dried chives
- 3 tsp dried oregano divided
- 1 ½ tsp garlic granules divided
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 9 oz box tagliatelle
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- freshly grated parmesan optional
Instructions
- Begin by getting your three components going. Pre-heat oven to 425 degrees. Fill a large pot of water and turn to high heat to bring to a boil. Add a large skillet to the stove and turn to medium-high heat.
- Add the frozen broccoli to a baking sheet. Toss with 1 tbsp avocado oil, ½ tsp sea salt and ½ tsp pepper. When the oven comes to temperature, roast the broccoli for 30 minutes.
- When the water comes to a boil, add the pasta and cook according to package directions. Drain when done, saving 2 tbsp of the pasta water.
- Add the ground turkey to the heated pan and turn the frozen meat every minute. As the turkey cooks, break pieces off to expose more frozen meat. Once fully cooked, add the dried chives, 2 tsp oregano, 1 tsp garlic granules, 1 tsp turmeric, ½ sea salt and ½ tsp pepper to the skillet. Stir and set aside to stay warm.
- When the broccoli, pasta and turkey are all done, add the pasta to a large serving bowl with the 2 olive oil, the reserved 2 tbsp pasta water, 1 tsp dried oregano and ½ tsp garlic granules. Toss, then stir in the broccoli and turkey. Serve with freshly grated parmesan.
