Today I’m sharing a new Colorful Cooking for Kids recipe lesson! Did you know national banana day was coming up on April 15th? A fun fact I learn while preparing the lesson on this popular fruit – bananas! We’re making one of our families favorite cool treats, peanut butter banana soft serve. If you’ve never made it before, you’ll be shocked with how simple and magical it turns out.

Cooking with kids
In lesson three I’m so excited to share a recipe that I’ve been making with my kids since they were little. In fact, Hunter was probably between 1-2 when we began making peanut butter banana soft serve. Now he’s almost 8! That says a lot about the longevity of this recipe – it’s a keeper!
We love it because..
- it tastes like ice cream
- it’s super creamy
- naturally sweet
- cooling on a hot day
- the perfect base for toppings
- fun to make (and even better to eat)
- is a great use for ripe bananas
Peanut Butter Banana Soft Serve
The base recipe is simply frozen bananas with a tiny bit of milk. We LOVE the addition of peanut butter, but if peanut butter doesn’t work in your house, don’t sweat it. Sub in any nut/seed butter or simply omit it. You guys will still love this recipe!
What’s included in lesson three?
I created an 8 page PDF that you can download and print and use right along with your kids in the kitchen. Grab the PDF download by entering your name + email below and I’ll send it over right away!
