BLT Egg Sliders Recipe (Fun Twist on Deviled Eggs!)

These BLT deviled eggs are such a fun way to switch things up, especially with kids. The “slider” style makes them more fun and easier to eat, which my kids love!

I’ll often serve them deconstructed too – letting them stack their own with egg halves, bacon, lettuce, and tomato. It turns into a hands-on meal or snack that feels a little more exciting than the usual.

They’re also a great way to introduce new textures and flavors in a familiar format. Think: classic deviled eggs… but upgraded in a way that feels fun instead of different!

If you try these, you’ll see why this BLT deviled eggs recipe is such a hit. It’s simple, flavorful, and just a little more fun than the classic version.

Why you’ll love these BLT deviled eggs

Classic flavors, fun twist – You get that nostalgic deviled egg base paired with the fresh, savory combo of a BLT.

Perfect crowd-pleasing appetizer – These are always one of the first things to disappear at parties, especially for Easter or summer gatherings.

High-protein snack option – Each serving packs in 9 grams of protein per slider, thanks to the hard boiled eggs and bacon, making them more filling than your typical appetizer.

Simple ingredients you’ll need

Scroll down to view the recipe card below for the full ingredients list, nutrition facts, and step-by-step instructions.

  • Hard-boiled eggs – The base of the recipe. Make sure they’re fully cooled for easier peeling and clean slicing.
  • Mayonnaise – Creates that creamy, classic deviled egg filling. Adjust slightly for your preferred texture.
  • Mustard – Adds a little tang and balances the richness of the yolks.
  • Sea salt and pepper – Enhances all the flavors—don’t skip this step.
  • Cooked bacon – Brings that crispy, smoky BLT flavor. Cook until nice and crisp for the best texture.
  • Tomato – Adds freshness and juiciness. Cherry tomatoes work great for less mess.
  • Lettuce – Gives that classic BLT crunch – romaine or butter lettuce both work well.
  • Everything bagel seasoning (optional) – A flavorful finishing touch that adds texture and a little extra savory pop.

How to hard boil eggs

Place your eggs in a single layer in a pot and cover with cold water (about 1 inch above the eggs). Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then turn off the heat, cover, and let sit for 10-12 minutes.

Transfer the eggs to an ice bath for at least 5 minutes to stop the cooking and make peeling easier.

Once cooled, gently tap and roll the eggs on the counter, then peel, and they’re ready to use!

How to make BLT Deviled Eggs

Step 1: Start by slicing your hard-boiled eggs in half lengthwise. Carefully remove the egg yolks and place them in a medium bowl, setting the egg whites aside on a plate.

Step 2: Using a fork, mash the egg yolks with mayo, mustard, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy. Spoon (or use a piping bag) to fill the egg whites with the yolk mixture.

Step 3: Now for the fun part – assemble your BLT sliders! Take one deviled egg half, add a small piece of lettuce, a slice of tomato, and half a slice of bacon, then top with another deviled egg half. Secure with a toothpick.

Step 4: Garnish with a sprinkle of everything bagel seasoning if you want a little extra flavor.

Pro tips

  • Pat your egg whites dry with paper towels before filling to help everything stay in place.
  • Stir your egg yolk mixture well before adding to the egg whites.
  • Use a piping bag for a cleaner, more polished look.
  • Chill in the refrigerator before serving for the best texture and flavor.

How to Store

Store any leftover BLT deviled eggs in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. For best freshness, keep them in a single layer on a serving platter covered in plastic wrap so the sliders stay intact.

If you’re making these ahead, you can prep the egg filling and components separately – store the filled egg whites, bacon, and chopped toppings in separate containers, then assemble right before serving. This keeps the lettuce crisp and prevents the tomatoes from making everything watery.

Avoid freezing, as the egg whites and creamy filling don’t hold up well once thawed.

Serving ideas

These BLT deviled eggs are perfect for:

  • Easter brunch spreads
  • Summer BBQs
  • Game day appetizers
  • Protein-packed snack plates

Substitutions, optional variations & dietary adjustments

Below you’ll find a list of substitutions that will work well in this egg appetizer recipe.

If you try something different out, please leave a comment below letting us all know how it turned out!

Hard-boiled eggs – No substitute here, but you can use store-bought pre-cooked eggs to save time.

Mayo – Swap with plain Greek yogurt or half yogurt + half mayo for a lighter option.

Mustard – Dijon or yellow mustard both work, or skip if you prefer a milder flavor.

Bacon – Use turkey bacon or even a plant-based bacon alternative if needed.

Tomato – Cherry tomatoes or grape tomatoes work great and are less watery.

Lettuce – Any leafy green works – romaine, butter lettuce, or even spinach.

Everything bagel seasoning – Optional, but you can swap with paprika, chili flakes, or fresh herbs for a different flavor.
