Home Recipe summertime raspberry arnold palmer

summertime raspberry arnold palmer

by Heather

Yesterday was a hot one!  I need to plan a bit better and go on our walks earlier in the day instead of at noon when the sun is scorching.

Hunter, Joe and I set out for a long walk to run some errands + to get some exercise in.

I quickly put the sun blocking hood attachment on the mei tai carrier so Hunter wouldn’t get sun burned on our walk.

So where all did our adventure take us?

The post office to mail a letter.

The library to return a book — because I’m always super later returning them.

And the ATM to make a deposit.

Walking from home to downtown Vancouver to all 3 places, and then back home gave us a long 1 hour and 15 minute walk.

We got a little sweaty on the walk, so when we were back home, all I wanted was something refreshing to drink (and a couple no bake bars).

I sure had the perfect drink!  An arnold palmer – half ice tea, half lemonade – raspberry style  A raspberry arnold palmer, or what I like to jokingly refer to with Jacob a R.A.P.  I thought it was hilarious… but I like to laugh at my own jokes.

The lemonade is pretty sweet on its own, so cutting it with ice tea makes it just perfect.  If I had fresh raspberries on hand, I’d definitely throw some in there too.

Raspberry Arnold Palmer
Makes 6 cups worth

Ingredients

  • 4 raspberry leaf tea bags
  • 3 cups lemonade with raspberry

Directions

  1. Bring water to a boil.  Steep 4 tea bags in 3 cups boiling water for 10 minutes.  Remove tea bags and allow to cool to room temperature.
  2. When ready to drink add ice to a pitcher and pour in iced tea and lemonade.
  3. Or if making ahead, leave out the ice until serving.

Seriously, so good and refreshing.  I’ll be drinking these all summer long and would definitely serve them up for all to enjoy.

And today Hunter turns 1 month old!  My little boy is growing up so quickly!

Have you ever had an arnold palmer?

I hate when you get out there and start walking and your no where near home and it’s hotter than heck out, and wonder why you did this.
