Celery Cucumber Juice Recipe Made in the Blender!

If you’re looking for a great beginner green juice, this is it!

Compared to my OG blender green juice (that’s filled with kale, celery, apple, and lemon juice), this one is more light and mild.

Since it is a strained green juice recipe, it is even more smooth.

A great way to introduce kids, and adults to green juice.

I find when I add cucumber to my green juice, I personally like to strain it. The cucumber adds a lot of pulp that’s a bit too much fiber for my liking.

But if you LOVE pulp, go ahead and skip the straining part! Less food waste too 🙂

Pulp is great for you – full of fiber and filled with awesome health benefits.

Celery and cucumber juice benefits

Cucumber celery juice is super hydrating, and even more delicious than plain celery juice.

It contains minerals like potassium and magnesium. You’re also drinking up anti-oxidants and vitamin C – which are great for the immune system!

More celery juice benefits are improved digestion and can help with gut health.

Homemade juice with vegetables is beneficial in alkalizing your body and has anti-inflammatory properties.

Plus, as I mentioned before, it is super refreshing and the first thing I notice is better energy!

I love the energy I get from drinking green juice, it is one of my favorite celery and cucumber juice benefits!

Should you use organic ingredients in this celery and cucumber juice?

Organic ingredients are great, but if they keep you from eating more vegetables, go for conventional.

Wash your whole vegetables, fruits, and herbs before use until cool running water.

However, if you can afford organic celery, organic cucumbers, and other organic produce, go for it!

My biggest tip is to look at the dirty dozen list and to try and purchase organic from that list when possible.

But again, don’t let buying organic keep you from eating more fruits and vegetables.

What type of blender should I use?

I’ve made this whole juice in a couple of different blenders and the power of the blender really does matter.

It’s a smart choice to use a high-speed blender to get smooth fresh juice.

It wasn’t until I started using this blender that I absolutely loved the smooth texture of my whole juice. Prior to that, I was left with a lot of chew.

Can you use a juicer for this recipe?

Absolutely, you can use a juicer to make this recipe! Everything in this recipe will be the same, except you will not be adding water.

Using a juicer squeezes everything out of the fruit and veggies and it create the juice that you will drink. The cucumber and celery have a high water content so you get a lot out of them.

Water is added when using a blender. If no water were added then the fruits and veggies would get stuck.

Substitutions

Below you’ll find a list of substitutions that will work well in this healthy green juice recipe.

If you try something different out, please leave a comment below letting us all know how it turned out!

Celery – Increase the amount of cucumber to replace the celery in this recipe.

Cucumber – English cucumbers or mini cucumbers work well here. Increase the number of stalks of celery and turn it into a no-cucumber celery juice recipe.

Green apple – Any type of apple will do! Green apples bring a more tart sweetness, whereas if you choose a more sweet apple your apple juice will be sweeter. Pineapple chunks would work well in place of the apple too. Pears are a good option to try in your green juice too!

Mint leaves – While mint leaves are a great addition, they can be omitted, or substituted with lemon balm. For a different twist, try fresh ginger or fresh turmeric for a little different flavor. For extra flavor, try adding parsley and giving this veggie juice a parsley juice twist!

Lemon juice – Lime juice is a delicious substitute for lemon juice. Orange juice would work well too!

Storage

You can easily prep a large batch of this healthy cucumber and celery juice in advance.

Make a single batch, double, or triple it and store in a mason jar in the fridge. Give it a quick shake before enjoying if prepping in advance.

If you have stored green juice ready to go you can drink it more easily on an empty stomach first thing in the morning and get the green juice energy going right away!

This healthy juice recipe is perfect for meal prep and so good to keep on hand!
