This recipe can be customized really easily!
Some other additions that would go well with this avocado mango salsa would be black beans, cherry tomatoes, goat cheese, or crunchy almonds.
You could also serve the entire meal with diced chicken breast and turn it into a mango chicken salad, which gives you a balanced meal with protein, healthy fats, carbohydrates, and lots of fresh flavors.
How to store leftover avocado salad
To make this in advance increase the lime juice a bit more. The lime juice helps to slow how quickly the avocado will brown.
Add a bit more lime juice (1-2 tablespoons more) and store the avocado salad in an airtight container or mason jar.
You can prep it up to 2 days in advance, or store leftovers that long as well.

Avocado – To substitute with something green, try a diced cucumber.
Red bell pepper – Any color of bell pepper will work here.
Red onion – For a more mild flavor try green onions or chives.
Jalapeno – Red chili pepper is a great substitute. You can also omit or reduce the jalapeno to adjust the heat or try banana or Anaheim peppers.
Cilantro – A couple of other fresh herbs that would substitute well would be basil and mint.
Lime – Lemon juice works well as a substitute for lime juice. If you don’t have any citrus available, try balsamic vinegar which also pairs really well with it.
