Easy 15 Minute Bang Bang Salmon Bites – Oven Baked!
Have you ever cooked salmon cubes before? If not, you’re going to love how speedy they cook up! Unlike when you’re cooking salmon as a large piece and you have to wait for the full piece to be cooked, these small bites are ready really quickly.
If you’re intimidated to cook salmon, you’ll find ease because each piece cooks evenly and at the same rate. But if you’re worried about your salmon being fully cooked, use a meat thermometer and check that the internal temperature reaches 145 degrees F.
We enjoy these salmon bites solo with lots of extra sauce, with my cucumber salad (swap out the shrimp for salmon), or built into a big nourishing bowl!
It’s an easy recipe that requires minimal cooking time, which is a winner in my book!
Why you’ll love this tasty salmon recipe
Super tasty dinner – I love making a big batch of the bite-sized pieces of salmon and serving them with rice, veggies, edamame, and lots of bang bang sauce. The whole family can build their dinner bowl how they’re like it to be, and everyone enjoys it!
Speedy cooking with minimal clean up – This is the ultimate combo – not many dishes to clean up and dinner ready in a flash. You’ll love how easy this dinner is for busy weeknights.
Full of protein and omega-3 fatty acids – Here at Fit Mama Real Food we LOVE salmon recipes! Salmon is naturally a great source of protein, but it is also unique in that you’re getting more good things like omega-4 fatty acids, particularly EPA and DHA. EPA and DHA help reduce inflammation, lower triglycerides and cholesterol levels, and improve heart health.

Can you cook this in the air fryer?
You absolutely can make this recipe in the air fryer – in fact, it’s even quicker cooking!
Season and prepare the air fryer salmon bites the same as you would bake them in the oven, but instead for this cooking method, place them in a 400-degree F preheated air fryer. They will cook for 5-7 minutes and then be done!
Serve in a crispy salmon bowl with the creamy sauce and enjoy!
How to serve in balanced bowls
There are so many delicious ways to enjoy your bang bang salmon bites. Want to build the bowl pictured above? Here’s what you’ll need:
Make a batch of your favorite rice as the base. We used jasmine white rice, but cilantro brown rice or cauliflower rice would be delicious as well.
Next, add thinly sliced cucumber and edamame. Pile on the salmon bites, add lots of the spicy sauce, and finish with green onions or chives.
How to store
Leftover salmon will store well – cool it to room temperature and then add it to an airtight container. Store in the fridge for up to 5 days.
Salmon can be enjoyed cold or rewarmed in the oven or air fryer.
Substitutions, optional variations & dietary adjustments
Below you’ll find a list of substitutions that will work well in this cajun salmon bites recipe.
If you try something different out, please leave a comment below letting us all know how it turned out!
Salmon – While we think this recipe is awesome with salmon, you could also make it with chicken and make bang bang chicken skewers, or make bang bang shrimp.
Mayonnaise – Coating the salmon in mayonnaise helps you to achieve a crispier texture. You could swap mayo for olive oil.
Seasonings – Don’t have each individual seasoning? Use a cajun seasoning instead.
