The combination of ground lamb, mint, oregano, feta, and red onions gives every bite SO much flavor, while the lemon dill Greek yogurt sauce keeps everything fresh and bright.
Serve them on toasted burger buns with crisp lettuce, tomato slices, and extra red onion for the juiciest burger of the summer.

- Ground lamb – Ground lamb creates an incredibly juicy burger with rich flavor that pairs perfectly with Mediterranean-inspired ingredients like feta and mint.
- Egg – The egg helps bind the lamb burger mixture together with the oat flour so the patties hold their shape while cooking.
- Frozen spinach – Using frozen spinach makes this recipe easy while also sneaking extra veggies into the burgers.
- Red onion – Minced red onions add a little bite and extra flavor throughout the burgers.
- Dried oregano – Oregano gives these burgers their classic Greek-style flavor.
- Dried mint – Mint pairs beautifully with lamb and helps brighten the flavor of the burgers.
- Sea salt
- Black pepper
- Oat flour – Oat flour acts as a binder while keeping the burgers tender and juicy.
- Ketchup – A small amount of ketchup adds moisture and balances the savory flavors.
- Feta cheese – Crumbled feta cheese adds creamy, salty flavor in every bite.
For serving
- Toasted burger buns
- Lettuce
- Tomato slices

- Lemon dill Greek yogurt sauce

How to make lamb burgers with feta cheese
Step 1: In a large bowl, combine the ground lamb, egg, thawed spinach, minced red onion, oregano, mint, salt, pepper, oat flour, ketchup, and feta cheese. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix the meat mixture. Divide into 8 equal portions and shape into equal patties.

Step 2: Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grates with a little olive oil if needed.
Step 3: Cook the burger patty for 4-5 minutes per side, or until the lamb burgers are cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 160 degrees F.

Step 4: Toast the burger buns while the burgers cook.
Step 5: Serve each lamb feta burger on a toasted bottom bun with lettuce, tomato, slices of red onion, and lemon dill yogurt sauce before adding the top bun.

Pro tips
- Don’t overmix the meat mixture or the burgers can become dense.
- Wet hands lightly before shaping patties to prevent sticking.
- Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty before grilling to help them cook evenly.
- If your mixture feels too soft, chill the patties for 15-20 minutes before grilling.
- These also cook well in a skillet or grill pan over medium heat.
Easy variations
- Add more veggies – Finely diced bell pepper or sun-dried tomatoes would both taste delicious mixed into the burgers.
- Make them feta stuffed lamb burgers – Instead of mixing the feta throughout, place feta cheese into the center of each patty for a stuffed burger version.
- Swap the sauce – Try whipped feta, tzatziki sauce, or hummus instead of the lemon juice yogurt sauce for a different flavour.

What to serve with lamb burgers
These lamb burgers with feta pair well with:
- French fries or sweet potato fries
- Cucumber slices and hummus or roasted red pepper pesto
- A simple green salad
- Grilled vegetables
- Pita bread and tzatziki
How to store leftovers
Store leftover burgers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
Reheat in a skillet over medium heat or in the microwave until warmed through.
You can also freeze cooked lamb burgers for up to 6 months in the freezer. Let thaw overnight in the fridge before reheating.

Substitutions, optional variations & dietary adjustments
Below you’ll find a list of substitutions that will work well in this ground lamb burger recipe.
If you try something different out, please leave a comment below letting us all know how it turned out!
Ground lamb – Ground beef or ground turkey can be used instead if you prefer a milder flavor. You can also swap half the lamb for another ground meat.
Egg – A flax egg can work as a substitute if needed.
Frozen spinach – Fresh spinach works too – just sauté it first and squeeze out any extra liquid.
Red onion – White onion, yellow onion, or shallots all work well here. You can use garlic cloves or onion powder in a pinch.
Dried oregano – Italian seasoning can be used in place of oregano.
Dried mint – Fresh mint can be used instead. Use about 1 tablespoon chopped fresh mint.
Oat flour – Breadcrumbs or almond flour can be swapped in instead.
Ketchup – Tomato paste or a small drizzle of olive oil can work in place of ketchup.
Feta cheese – Goat cheese or sheep’s milk feta are delicious alternatives.
Burger buns – Serve these on pita bread, lettuce wraps, or gluten-free burger buns if preferred.
