Almond Butter Greek Yogurt (High Protein Snack)

I have a low-key obsession with making plain Greek yogurt taste like dessert. It all started with my chocolate peanut butter greek yogurtSnickers yogurt cups, and then my peanut butter and jam yogurt parfaits.

Now this creamy almond butter Greek yogurt is right up there with yogurt flavors I make on repeat.

It’s quick to whip up (ready in a couple of minutes!), and a great balance of protein and healthy fats to fuel my busy mom life, or refuel my kids after school.

Ways to enjoy it

As yogurt bowls – Top with fresh fruit, chia seeds, or granola for extra crunch.

Use it as a dip – Serve with apple slices, strawberries, or bananas for a kid-friendly snack.

Make it dessert – Sprinkle dark chocolate chips or drizzle a touch of honey for a naturally sweet treat.

Meal prep snacks for the week – Portion into small mason jars or airtight containers for grab-and-go snacks during the week. I love these leak proof glass jars!

Pro Tips

  • Use plain Greek yogurt for a tangy flavor or vanilla Greek yogurt if you want added sweetness.
  • If you like it creamier, mix everything in a food processor for a whipped, dessert-like texture.
  • A sprinkle of cinnamon, cacao nibs, or coconut flakes can take this simple snack to the next level.

Substitutions, optional variations & dietary adjustments

Below you’ll find a list of substitutions that will work well in this almond butter Greek yogurt recipe.

If you try something different out, please leave a comment below letting us all know how it turned out!

Non-fat Greek yogurt – Swap nonfat for low-fat or whole milk Greek yogurt for extra creaminess, or use a dairy-free yogurt to keep it plant-based. Nonfat yogurt gives you a higher protein content, but any option will do!

Almond butter – Peanut butter, cashew butter, or sunflower seed butter all make great alternatives – choose based on your flavor preference. You can use crunchy almond butter instead of creamy for a nice crunchy texture.

Vanilla protein powder – Use plain protein powder and add a splash of vanilla extract or a drizzle of honey for natural sweetness. Maple syrup works great to sweeten as well.
