These healthy strawberry chia jam peanut butter protein yogurt parfaits are just what you’ll want when your sweet tooth is craving something sweet, but your body wants lots of protein. Each parfait cup gives you 30 grams of protein & 6 grams of fiber! I love meal-prepping a bunch of these to have for an after school snack, healthy breakfast addition, or post-workout snack. It also works as a delicious healthy dessert!

Protein Peanut Butter & Jelly Greek Yogurt Parfaits

I love taking creamy Greek yogurt and turning it into a sweet treat. It is an excellent source of protein and makes for a filling snack.

We are obsessed with this PBJ flavor, but I also have a chocolate version you’ll want to check out if you’re into chocolate!

This one has everything – it’s high protein, is full of healthy fats from peanut butter and chia seeds, and is the ultimate fancy breakfast makeover.

Sure, you could put everything into a bowl and enjoy it that way, but when you add layers into cups or mason jars and turn it into breakfast parfaits, it feels more elevated and makes the whole breakfast experience even better.

Why you’ll love this peanut butter greek yogurt recipe

Made with minimal ingredients – All you need are five ingredients to make this yummy pb&j parfait! If you want to make it even more minimal, opt for fresh strawberries instead of making chia jam.

Good source of protein – I love that I’m getting 30 grams of protein in each serving! It makes hitting protein goals really simple with this recipe.

Perfect for meal prep – You can prep a big batch of yogurt cups at one time and enjoy them all week long. This recipe makes five good-sized parfaits, but you can use smaller containers to make more or double the recipe to have a ton of them ready to enjoy!

Step 1: Into a large bowl add the yogurt, protein powder, peanut butter, and powdered peanut butter. Mix the yogurt mixture until it is smooth, thick, and creamy. You should no longer be able to see any of the powders.

Step 2: Into five 8oz parfait glasses, add layers of creamy peanut butter protein yogurt and strawberry chia jam. Top with a little homemade granola or hemp hearts (or hemp granola!).

Make this into a peanut butter yogurt dip!

Instead of jammy PBJ parfaits, turn your peanut butter protein yogurt into a thick and delicious dip.

Follow the same directions to mix and make your yogurt mixture, but instead, add it into a small bowl and serve with dippers!

Apple slices, banana slices on a toothpick, strawberries, fresh fruit, pretzels, and graham crackers are all a great option to build out your healthy snack!

How to store this easy recipe

Both the yogurt and chia jam need to be store in the fridge, so whether you make the parfaits into jars, or simply have the peanut butter yogurt and chia jam waiting to be enjoyed, ensure they are added into an airtight container and stored chilled in the fridge.

I love these 8oz glass containers for parfaits. They stack and store well, and are extremely cute!

Substitutions, optional variations & dietary adjustments

Below you’ll find a list of substitutions that will work well in this peanut butter yogurt bowl recipe.

If you try something different out, please leave a comment below letting us all know how it turned out!

Plain yogurt – Fat free Greek yogurt works best for this recipe to keep the protein content high, but full fat greek yogurt works as well! You can opt to use vanilla yogurt instead of plain yogurt, but you may need to adjust the amount of protein powder added if you find it too sweet by using a sweetened yogurt.

Vanilla protein powder – Whey protein powder mixes nicely into yogurt. We’re using vanilla protein powder here to keep the flavor neutral and to get extra protein + sweetness. You can use unsweetened protein powder in place of vanilla, but I would suggest adding a little maple syrup or honey, along with some vanilla extract.

Natural peanut butter – Creamy or crunchy peanut butter can be swapped with another kind of nut or seed butter – try almond butter, cashew butter, or sunflower seed butter.

Powdered peanut butter – PB powder can be swapped with extra protein powder or extra peanut butter. I like using the option of both powdered PB because it doesn’t add as much fat content as creamy peanut butter. You get a big peanut butter flavor with the combination!

Strawberry chia jam – You can make chia jam with any fruit that you’d like. You can also use storebought strawberry jam, however the recipe will not have as much fiber without the chia seeds.
