Burgers for all the time
Summertime calls for burgers! I love burgers of all kinds. What about you? I’ll take beef, chicken, turkey, salmon, veggie… it honestly doesn’t matter to me. Burgers are such a beautiful canvas for flavors and are super customizable.
You can have your burger on a bun, or use it as a salad topper. You can wrap it in lettuce, or chop it up and use it in a stir fry. The possibilities are endless!
Ingredients for BBQ turkey burgers
- ground turkey
- egg
- BBQ sauce
- coconut aminos
- oat flour
- green onion
- sea salt
How to make BBQ turkey burgers
- In a medium bowl combine all the ingredients. With a large spoon (or your hands!), mix until everything is combined. You may need a little more oat flour depending on how wet your mixture is.
- Heat a grill pan over medium-high heat and lightly coat with olive oil spray. Divide your turkey mixture into 6 even patties and place on the grill pan. Allow the first side to cook for 3-4 minutes, until you can see the bottom whitening, then flip. Let the second side cook another 2-3 minutes, or until the meat is no longer pink. Cook in batches if needed.
Serving up your burgers
We can serve burgers in so many ways. First, consider if you are going for a bun, or bun-less. Maybe you use a few romaine leaves to wrap it up.
Maybe you serve it over salad with a side of crispy white sweet potato fries. Maybe you toast a couple slides of bread!
Next, consider the spreads. Here are a handful of favorite options: mayonnaise, mustard, ketchup, mashed avocado, chipotle aioli and extra bbq sauce.
Lastly, think about the other items going inside the burger. Are you adding lettuce, tomato, pickles, sautéed veggies or cheese? Customize them to your liking!

Wow these look delicious! I love ground turkey, I substitute it all the time without telling the family, they’d never eat it if I told them! ha I think I’ll have to give these ones a try!!!
I always put leftovers in individual tupperware to take as lunches for the week. Hubby doesn’t always take me up on that offer (I guess whatever the cafeteria at work is serving up beats out my leftovers…psh!) 😉
Psh that hubby! Since we’re on a budget we never really buy lunch out, so he knows he’s gotta take what I make or not eat. Easy as that!
Yum! These look amazing! I have been craving burgers, think I’ll make some tonight!
wow this is a such a good idea! I always pack my hubby’s lunches but never think to prep them like this ahead of time! I’ll have to give it a try!
Since I started prepping ahead of time it saves me soooo much rushed time in the mornings.
LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE bbq, love turkey. Heaven. Looks so good. Yes, I prep lunches big time. I make J all three meals (usually) during the week.
What would those boys do without us?!?!?!
I do this same thing, but with breakfast burritos. Make them on Sunday and freeze them for Travis so he can have a “grab n go”!
Aren’t we just the sweetest wives?
I usually make a large grain based salad Sunday’s for easy lunches during the week, or for days there are not supper left overs. I am lucky and go home for lunch but pack the hubby’s.
Lucky you! I used to be able to go home at lunch and loved it. Sounds like a great lunch time meal.
Love this! They look great 🙂
