Healthy & Easy Instant Pot Ground Turkey Burgers Recipe

This recipe gives you some serious juicy turkey burgers. Once you’ve mixed and shaped your burger patties, they get a quick sear in the pressure cooker, the broth is added in, and then they pressure cook all the way through.

This way of making turkey burgers infuses the broth into the burger giving it delicious flavor, but also makes incredibly juicy patties. Even juicier than ground beef burgers!

I love making these burgers on busy weeknights when I’m in a hurry. It’s a quick dinner! That’s what I love about the instant pot – It really speeds up the cooking time and is nice and hands-off.

Why you’ll love these homemade burgers

Super juicy burger – A little bit of broth goes a long way to making these the juiciest ground turkey burgers!

Lean and protein-packed – Lean turkey is super high in protein and a healthy option to add to your dinnertime rotation. If you’ve found ground turkey leaves you with a dry burger because it is so lean, this recipe is a great option to try!

Set and forget – My favorite part of using an instant pot is setting it to pressure cook and then walking away. It’s the simplicity of a slow cooker, but everything gets done in a much shorter amount of time.

What to serve with this healthy meal

Here are some favorite healthier option sides we love to serve with these turkey burgers!

Can you make these in the air fryer?

This turkey burger recipe works great in the air fryer! To make air fryer turkey burgers omit the broth in the process of cooking.

Once you’ve mixed and shaped your turkey patties and added them into the air fryer basket, cook in the air fryer for 15-20 minutes at 400 degrees F or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F.

Instead of a burger shape, you could also mix it up and use this recipe to make turkey meatballs!

How to store

Cooked burgers should be cooled to room temperature before being added to an airtight container and stored in the fridge for up to 1 week.

You can also meal prep a ton and freeze these! Once cooled, add patties to a parchment paper lined baking sheet and freeze until solid.

Once frozen, you can combine the turkey burgers in a freezer bag to keep frozen for up to 6 months.

Ground turkey – Ground chicken is a perfect lean ground meat substitute for these ground turkey burgers. Lean ground beef is another good option that would be delicious here too!

Egg – An egg substitute like a flax egg should work just fine in this recipe.

Oat flour – Bread crumbs or panko bread crumbs are a good alternative for oat flour.

Garlic granules – Garlic powder or fresh garlic will work!

Chicken bone broth – Regular broth can be used in place of bone broth. Water works just fine here as well! To flavor it, add a little coconut aminos.
