Our spring weather here in Washington has been all over the place. We had a couple weeks of summer like days – we ran through the sprinklers, went swimming in our neighbors pool and spent a ton of time outside. Now it’s raining and we’re back to normal Washington spring weather. That preview of sunshine reminded me that summer was coming and that popsicles are a good thing to keep stocked in my freezer again!
What better was to cool off than with refreshing, fruit sweetened orange mango kefir popsicles?!

How to make orange mango kefir popsicles popsicles
Smoothies and popsicles go hand in hand. A popsicle filling is very much like a smoothie that you freeze. Which is pretty handy if you have extra smoothie around. You can simply pop the extra smoothie into a popsicle mold and freeze it for another day!
The simple steps in making homemade popsicles are as follows.
- First, blend the popsicles ingredients in a blender until smooth.
- Next, pour into your favorite popsicle molds and freeze!
You’ll want to make sure to have a creamy base in there for smoothness, and so that you popsicle doesn’t turn out icy. I love using yogurt, kefir or coconut milk/cream for the creaminess factor.
The fruit flavors can be totally up to your preference. If you add any unrefined natural sweetener in to add more sweetness, like honey, you would simple blend that in with the fruit and creamy liquid as well.
How to get stuck popsicles out of popsicle molds
Once your popsicle is frozen and ready to be enjoyed, the real final step is to get it out of the mold!
Have you ever had trouble getting a popsicles out? I sure have. Here’s my trick:
Simple place the popsicle base (not the handle) under cool running water until the popsicle releases. I will try and twist the popsicle as water runs over the base and then it eventually comes out!
Of course, if you use hot water it will release faster, but the popsicle will melt slightly.
