Favorite popsicle mold options

Silicone molds are my go-to popsicles molds.  They make popsicle removal super easy! A silicone mold works great with wooden popsicle sticks (an awesome budget-friendly option).

The traditional popsicle molds made with silicone are linked below, along with many other great options. These are the popsicle wrappers I like to use.

Traditional popsicle molds

  • Silicone popsicle mold – a more traditional look for popsicles and easy to release with silicone. My favorite and go-to one I use.

How to store

Once your popsicles are frozen and ready to be enjoyed, you can add them to popsicle wrappers to keep in the freezer.

If you don’t have popsicle wrappers, individually wrap the popsicles in parchment paper and place them in a freezer bag to keep them from getting stuck together.

They will store and stay fresh in the freezer for up to 6 months.

How to remove popsicles from stuck molds

If you have a hard time removing stuck popsicles, here’s what to do:

  1. Take the popsicle mold from the freezer and run the outside edges of the popsicle under warm water.
  2. Wiggle the popsicles until they come loose.
  3. Sometimes warmer water is needed for a stuck popsicle.
  4. ENJOY!

Substitutions, optional variations & dietary adjustments

Below you’ll find a list of substitutions that will work well in this mango cherry swirl popsicles recipe.

If you try something different out, please leave a comment below letting us all know how it turned out!

Greek yogurt – Regular yogurt works here as well, as does a non-dairy yogurt if you’d like these popsicles to be dairy-free. If you use a sweetened yogurt, you may not need the sweetness from the protein powder, so adjust as needed.

Vanilla protein powder – While not necessary, it will add a protein boost to these popsicles. You can also use collagen peptides in its place, along with honey or maple syrup for the sweetness that the protein powder would have provided.

Mango & cherries – You can use fresh fruit or frozen defrosted fruit for this recipe. If you’re missing either mango or cherries, no worries, swap with other fruits! A peach and raspberry combo would be delicious, as would kiwi and strawberries.
